Female Problem Question

OK. I wasn't worried up til yesterday..... BUT my period is 11 days late now. I've been late before (but never more than 3-4 days) and even skipped a period once. I have PCOS but it's never really made my cycle irregular. Just makes it painful, cause I have alot of cysts. But my last period was Feb 20th. My surgery was March 19th (day before I was suppose to start). I was thinking maybe the trauma of going through surgery postponed it a bit. But last week I was having cramps and chocolate cravings like I normally do a couple days before I start. Well, I still haven't started yet. What do you think? Is it possible I could be pregnant even though they did a pregnancy test the morning of surgery as a precaution?

Many women have trouble with their period after wls.  But to be safe, contact your bariatric surgeon and let him know what is going on, and also your gyn...  hopefully it will be the effects of your surgery... Sometimes it throws some women into having a period...  others, missed periods...

Mel is right contact your surgeon..   but to calm your nerves a bit...  I also have PCOS and I am four months out, and I have not been regular since surgery, I didn't have a period in Dec, and I had two in January, then February was regular, but March was late and only lasted a day!  I contacted my gyno and she said what Mel said, WLS and all the diet changes throws the system off, but always better safe than sorry and talk to your doctors.

Good Luck and please keep us posted!!!

There are quite a few of us wls women who have PCOS and irregular periods.  But let me just say, you will probably start having regular periods when you lose more weight...  mine went from every 5-6 years to every month.  Jee****s good to be a woman and all, but Mother Nature sure is mean to me! lol
